Terms of Service

Last updated: July 15, 2026

1. Agreement

By downloading or using Echo, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

2. The service

Echo is a personal audio diary for iPhone: it records your voice, transcribes it, and uses on-device intelligence to summarize entries, track moods and map recurring topics. Echo processes everything locally on your device; see the Privacy Policy for details.

3. Not medical advice

Echo shows reflections about your moods and the topics of your life. These are generated summaries of your own words — they are not therapy, diagnosis or medical advice, and Echo is not a healthcare product. If you're struggling, talk to a qualified professional or contact your local emergency or crisis line.

4. Your content

Your recordings, transcripts and everything derived from them belong to you. They are stored on your device; we take no license over them and never receive them. You are responsible for what you record — including complying with local laws if you record conversations involving other people.

5. Acceptable use

Don't reverse engineer, resell or misrepresent the app; don't use it to break the law. That's it — it's a diary.

6. Intellectual property

The Echo app, name, icon and design are our property and are protected by law. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond using the app.

7. Purchases

Echo is currently free while in development. If paid features arrive later, they will be sold through Apple's App Store under Apple's payment terms, and these terms will be updated first.

8. Warranty disclaimer

Echo is provided "as is". Transcription and AI-generated reflections can be wrong, incomplete or oddly phrased — treat them as an aid to memory, not a record of fact. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Echo, including loss of data. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Losing your data

Because your diary exists only on your device, deleting the app — or losing the device without a backup — deletes your diary. Keeping a device backup (iCloud or computer) is your responsibility.

11. Termination

You can stop using Echo at any time by deleting it. We may stop offering the app or any feature; because there's no server side, anything already on your device keeps working as long as iOS allows.

12. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this site before they take effect.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the courts of Spain, unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise.
